Many feel that the bike tends to be too sluggish with the stock exhaust and are looking for more power up top. One product that provides the desired results is the Yoshimura TRC Stainless/Carbon Slip-On. This is a race proven exhaust from Yoshimura that has gotten rave reviews from professionals and amateurs alike. The system has a stainless steel header and midpipe, an attractive carbon fiber muffler sleeve, as well as a 96db low-volume insert. The F2 racing Fast-Cap is a product developed by the great minds at F2 racing, which is designed to keep the flow of the fuel constant. When testing the world’s fastest bike, researchers at F2 noticed that it would start to “run lean” at very high speeds, as the stock float bowl cap allows fuel to flow away from the center, where the jets are fed. With this $30 cap, performance is improved dramatically, as the fuel flow is more direct. At sustained high speeds, the problem of the bike “running lean” or not getting enough fuel, is eliminated and a far more consistent top speed is achieved. The Fast-Cap is a relatively small after market part that fits on to an existing carburetor. F2 claims that in nearly any kind of racing, the top speed is not only more consistent than with the stock, but also higher. (more…)

Another new product on the market is the Power Bowl, a product recently released by R&D Racing. This billet aluminum float bowl not only has more fuel capacity for the times your carb burbles over the breaking bumbs or choppy whoop sections, it also is tunable and has a more powerful accelerator pump. You can tune the leak jet to achieve better timing for the accelerator pump which in turn cleans up your pilot circuit for a crisp throttle response. (more…)
