Probably the scariest injury when riding a motorcycle has to be a neck/spinal cord injury.  The newest item that’s being talked about just about everywhere is a product called the Leatt Brace.  The brace limits the over extension of your head and neck in severe crash instances.  The product is getting quite a following with several top motocross riders deciding to use it including Kevin Windham and Josh Grant.  (more…)

F2Racing.net has released a new Demissions “PowerBack” Kit for the Honda CRF450X, CRF250X and the 2007 Yamaha WR250 and Yamaha WR450. This kit was developed with the help of 6 time Baja 1000 winner Steve Hengeveld who races the CRF450X and is intended to get rid of the emission controls and tuning that the factories use to pass stringent smog certifications. The result, increased horsepower a cooler running bike, no more popping on deceleration from the exhaust and a 1.5 pound decrease in weight. (more…)

So honda put out a bulletin to it’s dealers a while ago about mods that should be made for people racing the CRF450X in closed course competition (aka “Smog Exempt” in California). Here’s a copy of the bulletin along with the information contained.  Click on the picture to get it bigger.

The pink wire mod is one of those highly debatable mods for the CRF450X. Seems everyone has an opinion as to whether it does anything or not. Only one result has been verified by everyone and that is that the mod raises the RPM limit by 500 revolutions per minute. But does it do anything else? (more…)
